A name printed on a generic story is personalisation on. The child's trait, comfort object and a moment from their life woven structurally into the narrative is personalisation in. oneprnt does the second.
Every book is built from a human-written editorial template. An AI engine drafts the personalised version. A human editor reads it end to end before it goes to the illustrator. /studio explains this in plain language.
The first cohort is written for ages four to eight. Reading-level guidance is on every book's product page. The story content is paced for a child sitting with a caregiver, not reading alone.
Every oneprnt book is built around a single trait that sounds most like the child. The other parts of who they are are present in the comfort object, the moment a parent tells us about, and the small specific details a parent shares.
Parents have written to ask whether a child can have more than one book. Yes. Some children will have two or three. Each one is a separate volume, not a re-edit of the first.
Six to eight weeks. The book is written, illustrated and printed for a single child. We do not hold stock. The wait is the product.
The four answers a parent gives are used only to draft the book. We will store them encrypted on European servers and delete them from active systems after the book ships. The book itself will be archived under a publisher reference, not a child's identity. Full detail will live on /privacy when the production system is in place.
Every book is reviewed by a parent before printing. A draft of the personalised text and one sample spread is sent for approval. Parents can request edits, a different angle, or a pause without penalty.
If after printing a parent feels the book missed the child, we will reprint once at no additional cost. We have not had to, yet.
Once a parent approves the proof and the book is printed, the book is the child's. We do not accept returns of a printed personalised book. The pre-print proof exists precisely to make returns unnecessary.
We ship from Switzerland worldwide. Switzerland and EU lead times match the six to eight week production window. Outside Europe, add one to two weeks for postage. Customs duties are the recipient's responsibility.
Each volume is built for a target age band rather than a single reading level. The first cohort is built for ages four to eight, with vocabulary and sentence length controlled by the editorial template, not the AI engine.
Most of our first readers cannot read on their own. The book is built to be read aloud by a caregiver, sitting with the child, in the kind of slow voice that lets a child hold what they hear. The illustrations carry as much of the story as the words.
Children who later learn to read often come back to the book and read it themselves. The text is paced for that, too.
A parent tells us how the child is named and how the child is referred to in their family. The book uses that, exactly as told, without translation. He, she, they, a name used in place of any pronoun, all are written and printed as the parent describes.
The story does not depend on any character marker beyond the ones a parent shares. A book about a quiet child sitting on the kitchen floor before a storm is the same book whether the child is called he, she, they, or by name only.
Two layers. A human editor reads the personalised draft end to end before it goes to the illustrator. Then the parent sees a proof of the personalised text and one sample spread, and approves it before the book goes to print.
If the editor flags anything before the proof, we redraft and bring the parent in earlier. The proof is the last gate, but it is not the only one.
We print the name exactly as you give it to us, with the diacritics. The launch typeface supports Latin scripts plus French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Polish, Czech, and Hungarian diacritics.
Cyrillic, Greek, Korean, and Japanese scripts are on the roadmap. If your child's name needs something outside the launch set, write to team@oneprnt.com and we will tell you whether we can render it for the first cohort or when we can.
